October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There is so much information out there on the Internet about breast cancer, but it seems as though we dont really pay attention to it until it hits close to home. I, too, am guilty of this. But once I was aware of all of the issues that can afflict a cancer patient I was hooked on spreading the word. Im not going to torture you with the details, but there are issues above and beyond just having cancer. I know that may sound callous, but it is true. Insurance coverage, hospital stays, early discharges from hospitals are just a few. Please check out these websites for some more information. I believe it is a worthy cause considering at least half of our population is women.
